In September of 2015 Eric Jenkins signed with Nike and the Oregon Project after 2 years at the University of Oregon under Coach Andy Powell. While at Oregon Jenkins helped lead the Ducks to an Indoor NCAA Title and 2 Outdoor NCAA Titles. At the 2015 Indoor Championships he won both the 3K and 5K titles. In the Summer of 2015, Jenkins ran 13:07 to become the youngest American to ever run that fast. In 2015 he also set PR's in the 3K 7:41.79 and the 1500 3:38.98. Eric will be looking to follow in the footsteps of Oregon Project teammates Rupp and Centrowitz who have made the jump from the University of Oregon to the World stage.
In 2016 Jenkins placed 4th in the Olympic Trials, barely behind the man who would go on to win Silver at the Olympics. Later in 2016 Jenkins won the Fifth Avenue Mile in a time of 3:49.5 narrowly defeating Olympic Champion and teammate Matthew Centrowitz.
2017 saw Eric Jenkins toe the line with confidence and it showed in his results as he went undefeated over several months before coming in 2nd place in the US Championships in the 5000 meters to qualify for his first US Team.
